In as much as classroom technology is a good thing, you really need to be careful that you never lose your students in the name of technology. There are some traps that you have to take care of as they would determine how effective you are when you are using technology for your lessons. First things first, we have to all agree that technology is a good thing and when used well, would bring even better results.

The one loophole that this technology leaves and which has to be sealed is that of student feedback. When you are instructing a group of students, your greatest concern should be that they grasp what you have for them and you would assess that through feedback. So, when you are using technology, you need to remember to continually assess this.

You also would be more effective when you are using technology in classroom when you encourage more of student participation. In many cases, you would be using slides on PowerPoint to instruct the students. You can encourage participation when you do not just quickly read through your slides and call it a day.

Maybe, you can take your time before every subheading to have a brainstorming session with the students before you can reveal the next slide. Alternatively, you would discuss a slide and then engage the students in some question and answer kind of discussion just to be sure you are not dominating the sessions.

It would also be better that you find the easiest expression terms with classroom technology. Yes, when preparing your presentation, it is best that you find the terms that are most familiar to your audience so that you are effective. You should always strive to make sense as the instructor.
