INTRODUCTION:

At the expo 2020, the Tata sierra EV concept is a feasibility study. The craze of SUV may be relatively new, but in the utility of the vehicle segment, Tata Motors has strong roots. The Tata motors had three important editions, those are safari, sumo, and sierra. All these three editions of the brand have since been discontinued, most recently, the safari. 

For the Tata motors, the aspirational model of the era is sierra. The first edition of Tata motors that was made-in-India and which came with premium features is SUV. To commemorate the brand’s 75th anniversary at auto expo 2020, The Tata motor chose to build the sierra to showcase the sierra concept. 

Sierra EV concept by Tata motor is getting plenty of attention at the expo from the news fans and other fans of the original. New sierra EV concept is simply a sentimental favorite or it has commercial viability, is simultaneously evaluating by Tata motor.

By considering the sidelines of auto expo 2020, the passenger vehicle business unit of Tata motors stated that in terms of feasibility, Tata motor can make the sierra and the sierra sit very well within our lineup.

DESIGN AND THE FEATURES OF SIERRA:

On the ALFA ARC platform, the sierra concept of the sierra is built that underpins the Altroz and HBX. On this platform, the sierra concept is the biggest car yet, as the sierra is opposed to the sub 4m Altroz and HBX at 4.1m. In Tata’s lineup, the Nexon is also a sub 4m that offering in Tata. In between the Nexon and the bigger harrier in the Tata SUV lineup, the production-spec sierra would sit.

Assuming that the production-spec model could be around 4.2m in length is safe. By taking the full potential of the platform ALFA ARC which can spawn cars up to 4.3 m in length. With multiple powertrain options like internal combustion engines as well as the full-electric power trains concept, this platform is compatible. The Tata confirms that if the sierra goes into production then it will be offered in forms ICE and EV as the result. Over 300km range is delivered by EV’s based on the ALFA ARC. 

The design of the sierra EV is featured with many elements of the original iconic design of SUV. The design is updated for the modern era. For the large and curved window pans around the, it was wrap-around glass. This is the reference to the original sierra design. 

The design also gets front bumper and the LED headlamps with slim LED DRL’s are mounted in the front bumper along the bonnet line. It has a prominent black cladding on all sides and blacked-out A-pillars. The rear has a wrap-around LED light strip and this strip running across the tailgate. The tailgate is with tail lamps house in the wheel arches. To access the cabin there is a rear door slide open and it has front seat that can swivel around.
