The COVID-19 pandemic and the lockdown that followed has changed the way we live our day to day lives, ensuring that we are at home more than ever before and limiting our outings. For some, especially those adjusting to the work from home schedule, it feels like all work and no play, with many of people’s favourite pubs, leisure centres, restaurants and other outlets shut. For us, at Gazebo Cuisine, we have been finding new ways to wind down, connect with loved ones at a distance and enjoy the simple things in life. It seems food is really lifting people’s spirits in lockdown!
Learning New Recipes
For lots of people in today’s busy worldthey’re always on the go, and so learning skills such as cooking have not been prioritised before. As people have found themselves with more time on their hands, they are taking up new skills and putting lots of time and effort into them. Lots of people, especially younger people, are learning to cook really delicious food and adding recipes to their repertoire during lockdown. It’s heart-warming to see people having so much fun with food, enjoying world cuisine and calling on their family to share secret recipes from their history and culture!
Getting Creative
Because most of us are shopping less often and are sometimes at the mercy of stock difficulties, what we’re stocking in our kitchens at home also seems to be changing. We are enjoying seeing what food people are coming up with when they’re pushed to adapt and try new things! Some of the very best meals and family favourites are discovered when you have to change your plans!
Date Nights
It’s a tough time for romance, surprises and sweeping someone off their feet but nevertheless, we’ve seen food play a big role in people’s lockdown date nights. Taking the time to cook something special for your partner and set up a cosy candlelit spot at the table is a touching gesture and one that’s extra appreciated during this time, whilst we can’t take each other out to restaurants.
Increasing Exercise
Whilst people are working from home, they have been stretching their legs and taking a walk or a run during the day. Reports show that lots of people have had more time to prioritise their physical health and get outdoors in nature during this time. The snacks we take to fuel up pre and post exercise or the snacks we take on our wanders have been an important part of this ritual for lots of us.
Rebranding with What’s Important
Lots of people have had time to reflect during this time and we’re pleased to rebrand with what’s important to us! We’ve taken your absolute favourite snacks and made them bright, colourful and easy to find in your favourite shops. We’ve also added a few new flavours to the collection that we just know you’re going to love, so keep an eye out for them! All of our snacks are compactly packaged, easy to grab and pop in your bag to take to work, school, the gym or on your walks – eat cold and out of the packet or quickly heat them up depending on your preference. As lockdown lifts and life picks up, remember to still put yourself first and stay nourished! We’re ready at your favourite supermarkets such as Welcome Break, Londis, WHSmith, Bestway, Costcutter, Nisa and more!
